A spark that, if ignited, can see them change their life, their community and how they view themselves in a profound way.
Girls on Fire delivers evidence-based cultural immersion and fire programs to teenagers. Our programs are designed to inspire young people to take an active role in building community safety and connection. All while uncovering their own personal confidence and resilience – and the potential of an exciting new career path.
Girls on Fire work with schools, fire and emergency services, regional towns, and all kinds of youth-related organisations to introduce young people aged 15 to 19 to fire, emergency and disaster management skills.
Our programs combine practical frontline emergency experience with evidence-based Australasia-specific and international research. We offer one-day and residential fire camps, cultural inclusion programs, virtual programs, advocacy and community engagement services, and more.
Girls on Fire Inc wants to build a future for young people in Australia.
One that is built on knowing our worth and our value in society through service to the community.
Want to get involved?
As the flagship of our girls fire training, our single day and multi-day camps give girls aged 15 to 19 the opportunity to experience life on the emergency services frontline.
Girls on Fire school programs can help soon-to-be school leavers consider fire and emergency service careers and they introduce meaningful volunteer pathways at school and beyond.
Girls on Fire is reliant on fire camp volunteers, youth mentors, general support volunteers and the goodwill of returning campers to make each day at Girls on Fire HQ a successful one.
At Girls on Fire, we believe confident young people are our future leaders and change agents of tomorrow. And that confidence begins with visibility and representation.
In 2025, Girls on Fire ran its first program inside Reiby Youth Justice Centre, working with girls and boys under 15 to build confidence, connection, and practical emergency skills. The program was made possible through funding from the NSW Government's Investing in Women initiative and the support of Reiby staff and our cultural inclusion mentors.
If you’ve mentored at a Girls on Fire camp, please take 10–15 minutes to share how the experience influenced your approach to working with young people.
Girls on Fire has been invited to send a Girls on Fire camper to speak at Global Youth BOSAI Summit on May 17th 2025! Find out how you can apply now.
