Girls on Fire helps young women and marginalised youth build confidence, leadership skills, and explore career options, all while learning how to keep their communities safe.

Girls on Fire’s free programs use a unique fire camp format to help girls, Indigenous, multicultural, rural, disaster-affected, neurodiverse, and LGBTQIA+ youth overcome barriers and explore careers in fire and emergency services. By partnering with schools, councils, and community groups, we create opportunities that are often inaccessible due to exclusion, stereotypes, or disadvantage.
We want teens and volunteers who are curious, courageous, and ready to challenge themselves. If you’re excited to learn new skills, work as a team, and make a real difference in your community, Girls on Fire is for you.
As the flagship of our girls fire and emergency training, our one and two day programs give girls aged 14 to 19 the opportunity to experience life on the emergency services frontline.
Girls on Fire school programs can help soon-to-be school leavers explore fire and emergency service careers and meaningful volunteer pathways via our eight week Vocational Pathways Program.
Girls on Fire relies on volunteers and our past participants to make each day at a Girls on Fire program a successful one. In return, we offer professional development, youth-training, and industry networking opportunities.
